This completely re-imagined production of Into the Woods was set in a Depression-era orphanage. The story is told to two newly-arrived orphans by the headmaster (the Narrator) with the aid of the other orphans. As the orphans tell the story through puppets and shadow play, the children's imaginations transform the orphanage into the woods and the familiar fairytale characters begin to come to life emerging from windows, trunks, and trap doors.
