Mark Mendelson is a Los Angeles based Set Designer who brings to life storytelling environments that delight and thrill audiences. Mark blends his passion for theater, music, and architecture into original and innovative design solutions for live events.
Recent designs include world premier productions of Sukkot (directed by Joel Zwick), A Beautiful Lie (directed and choreographed by Jamal Sims), and Peg + Cat Live! (PBS Kids/Bay Area Children's Theatre), as well as West Coast premieres of The Civility of Albert Cashier (Colony Theatre) and can i touch it? (Rogue Machine Theatre Co). Other designs include Lines In The Dust (Collaborative Artists’ Bloc/Support Black Theatre), End of the Rainbow (OMG Productions), and Aerwacol (U.S. Premiere). His work has also been seen at Rogue Machine, The Colony Theatre, Seattle Rep, La Mirada Theater, Rubicon Theatre Co, Pacific Symphony, Broadway by the Bay, Berkeley Playhouse, Diablo Theatre Co, Stagedoor Manor (20 productions), 42nd Street Moon (8 Productions), and many more. Mark is a Bay Area Theatre Critics’ Circle Award winner and has earned award noms from LA Weekly, Broadwayworld, and Theatre Bay Area. When not designing, you can find Mark hiking or playing piano.
